OpTicGaming Make Video Montages Availabe Via Their Conduit
Released in late 2005, Call of Duty 2 is a video game set during World War II and is experienced through the perspectives of four soldiers, one in the Red Army, one in the United States Army and two in the British Army. By October 2006, close to 1.5 million copies of the game were sold worldwide.
Die-hard fans of Call of Duty, members of the OpTic Gaming team are hobby- gamers, with real day jobs, whom joined together for the fun of the game. They found each other online and through personal contacts in 2006 (the “Call of Duty 2” era), and have been playing together ever since. OpTic Gaming has competed in, and won, many tournaments and championships such as NxGamers TDM and SnD, and to this date OpTic is still considered to be one of the best teams to play Call of Duty 2. Today, in addition to the ongoing tournaments, they also make montages and play on their new ladders (online gaming leagues).
The “most popular” guns used to play Call of Duty 4 are Sub Machine Guns or Assault Rifles, all of which make it harder to use a sniper close range. OpTic Gaming was one of the first “teams” on Call of Duty 4 to use the Reg-Scope as a primary weapon. When they came out with a new montage on YouTube, people noticed this tactic took more skill to “Quick-Scope” and Run-And-Gun with the Sniper. Over time they built a strong following on Youtube.
OpTic Gaming is also known for montages and capture-carding their matches, which allows them to post full videos of their matches on YouTube.
As mentioned, OpTic Gaming have a huge fan-base that loves watching the OpTic Gaming videos. With over 28,000 subscribers to their social media channels, the OpTic Gaming team decided to develop an official website that would keep them in touch with their fans, and towards the end of summer 2009, launched their official conduit.
