A New App Marketplace

As many of you have already noticed, last week, we released a new version of the Conduit App Marketplace (for users). Our dedicated product team has been spending long hours in the last few months—planning, testing and designing.  We want to thank all of the publishers who helped in the process.

What’s new?

Well it’s easy to notice the new design and we sure hope you find it’s prettier but there is much more to it than just good looks. We actually tested 3 different layouts and chose the design that users liked most. The new marketplace provides more promotion areas for apps -- this will help publishers get better exposure. It also includes more room for a few new sections, such as Happening Now and Recent Activity.

A few additional improvements include:

• Better app search – additional metrics are taken into consideration as part of the search algorithm and user rating is given greater importance. In other words, if the app is good and users “like” and vote for it, the apps will be more likely to climb up in the results.
• New social features were added to show users what apps are being used by other members in the network and more specifically by their friends as part of the new “Happening Now” and  “Recent Activity” sections. Users can also share their own apps across social channels and encourage other community members to use them.
• Localized versions were introduced in Spanish, Portuguese, German, French, and Italian. More languages will be added soon and languages preferences will be taken into consideration as part of the overall experience for all users.
• Better support – new flash demo, additional FAQ entries, new links for developers and more.
