Wibiya is Welcoming Google + 1 to Our Apps Marketplace

Many of you have been writing us asking when we plan to add the Google +1 app to our marketplace. Well, we promised it would be soon and here it is.

Google + 1 can now be installed on your Wibiya bar.

But what is Google +1?

Google +1 is Google’s new social recommendation button. To use it, your users need to be logged in to their Google account and simply click the button. Clicking the button indicates that they recommend this page.

From then on, whenever one of your user’s connections searches for a relevant keyword on Google, their +1 recommendation will appear and they will be able to see who recommended it. Most people would rather visit a page that has been recommended by a friend than one that is completely unknown to them, so adding the +1 button to your site is a great way of allowing your users to give you a vote of confidence.

What happens when a user searches for a keyword without signing in to their Google account?

When a Googler searches for a relevant keyword without signing in to his or her Google account, they will still be able to see sites that have been vote +1. They will see the aggregated number of +1’s each site has received, which will also affect the search results and encourage searchers to visit sites that have been voted on by the largest number of users.
